When will Airtran be no more?

Has anyone heard any recent news when Airtran will be completely phased out and it will be just Southwest?

Has anyone heard any recent news when Airtran will be completely phased out and it will be just Southwest?

I fly out of Flint Michigan and Southwest takes over completly on April 14th.
I have to say I am so disapointed. With Airtran we have had several options daily for non stop to Orlando. Loved doing the 7am flight out of FNT. Southwest has one option for non stop that has us arriving at MCO at about 5pm. So now if I fly out of Flint I loose a complete day at Disney. Of course I could leave at 6am with either a 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 layover in Atlanta. I am that person that once I am in the plane I am there until I land in Orlando

To date, Southwest Airlines has welcomed 29 percent of AirTran Employees to the Southwest Family, has converted 11 AirTran Airways 737-700 aircraft to the Southwest paint scheme and interior configuration, and has transitioned five AirTran Airways-served cities into Southwest Airlines operations.

They are sending 3 AirTran 717's to Delta a month starting this summer. They have 88 so it's planned to go to 2015.

Rochester NY converting to all Southwest in April also. An improvement for us. We had direct flights to MCO only in peak seasons and it looks like SW will operate that year round. Prices are lower so far and more predictable because of SW's advance pricing policy. And no baggage fee, yay.

According to the Southwest Pilot's contract all the aircraft and pilots must be Southwest by 1/1/15. So the last day that AirTran can operate, without violating the contract, is Dec 31, 2014.
