When will 2009 rates be available?

We are planning a June 2009 trip to DW and since I only have 11 months to plan was wondering when the 2009 rates will be out and once they are out will we be able to make a reservation and lock in the rate?

Based on what others have said in various threads, WDW should release the 2009 rates sometime in August.

That is funny because I was coming on here to ask the same thing so thank you for that but I also have another question.
Does this mean you can't book with a travel agent now because they won't have the rates either?
I am just trying to get a round about of how much its going to cost. I guess I could just go with whatever the rates are now and go from here.

That's what I've been told by our travel agent. I think she said rack or room rates the first week of august followed by packages and AAA pricing towards the end of August. I think the delay between the two is locking in restaurants to the dining plans.

I'm starting to do the preliminaries for our trip in June '09. We'll be a party of six staying in a cabin at Ft Wilderness so I'm anxiously awaiting those numbers.

A very nice CM I spoke to on the phone this week said the end of July/early August. Can't wait!!

You or a travel agent can book a room only reservation now for most of 2009. You have to call disney to do this, can't use the web site. Rooms can be booked 499 days in advance. They will charge you a one night deposit based on the 2008 peak rate for the resort. Then when the real rates are released your room rate will be adjusted. At that time if you want you can change the reservation to a package.
