When was your first visit to the World?

My first visit to the World was in '84 at the age of 6 months! :cutie: We stayed at the CR and I don't remember a darn thing, ha.

My Gammy and Gampy (mom's parents) took my mom and aunt to DL numerous times throughout their childhood; my parents then took my Grammy (dad's mom) to MK and Epcot several times after they were married. I was born in May '84 and for Christmas '83 my Gampy announced that he was taking the family to WDW in November and then every May for my birthday. My Gammy then announced that we'd also be taking either an international vacation, a national vacation to a point of interest, or a cruise every year in late summer or early fall. And that, my friends, is where my love of all things Disney began. My Gampy was my rock and role model and I have such fond memories of him on all of our WDW vacations (23 total + 2 DL) before he passed in '04. :lovestruc

September 1996 with then GF now DW. We stayed at CBR and spent 2 days at MK and 1 at Epcot. Also went to Sea World and Universal 1 day each. Do I remember right that IOA was not opened yet?

My father refused to take us when we were kids so I was 27 on this first trip. My sister is 43 and has never been. We took her two boys, along with DW's sister's boy, in 2001 - ages 5, 9 and 11. We had a blast! I hope to be able to bring my sister on a trip with us someday.

I just remembered that the big disappointment that first trip was that the castle was dressed up as a giant cake for the 25th anniversary. What a monstrosity! Still had a great time though. Felt like a kid again.

First trip was 1978 off site but the best trip ever was second trip 1980 at Polynesian for $60 a night. We have been may times since then but none match the magic of staying onsite and staying at a beautiful resort. Our children were 6 and 7 years old and the only park was the Magic Kingdom. Now we take our four grandchildren as often as we can (DVC owners)

My first trip was in 1991 I was 11 and DB was 7. My mom had a work conference in Orlando so she pulled us and my Dad out of school (he was a teacher) and we stayed off site at a very nice Marriott. I remember the first ride we went on was Dumbo and I had to ride it with my brother. Just us 3 went in the day time because my Mom was in meetings. Then we went back at night with my mom...OMG is all I can say between the Electrical Parade and the fireworks I was in tears of joy. (Smiling just thinking about it.). I remember her making us ride everything she missed during the day all over again-like Peter Pan and Its a Small World. That trip was awesome. I never saw theme parks the same after that. None of the others we ever visited compared to the amazingness of Disney after that.

I feel like I have two first visit stories because my DH had never been and I took him in 2006 he was 31 and seeing the joy on his face the first time he saw that castle. He was like "it's just like Sunday nights..." Because we both grew up in that time when you waited for the Sunday night movie on tv. Especially, the ones that opened with that castle. So yeah we have both been addicted ever since that trip.

My first trip to Disney was back in 1997, to Disneyland with my Mom for spring break.

My first trip to WDW was in may 2011!! It was after WWoHP had been built and we wanted to go check that out and since we'd be down there anyway, I figured we should go to Disney as well! It's been 13 trips since then!! :)

I am not exactly sure of the date of my first trip, but this photo was taken in 1980 when I was 3, and my mom said it was my second or third trip. Mickey sure was short back then!:rotfl: To put it into perspective, he is standing next to my aunt who was 12 at the time (and the guy in the photo is my grandpa)...

In 1978 I was 4, I remember mom kept making me take pics with flowers and I was bored and wanted to ride so I sat on a bench and cried, Peter Pan came over and played with me and cheered me up. I've never forgotten him, still have the pic of us too..

March, 1978. I was a freshman in college and on tour during spring break with my college girls glee club. We were only there for about 6 hours, but we enjoyed every minute of it!

Disneyworld in October 1994! I was 9. It was a girls trip with my mom, 2 Aunts, and cousin. We did both the World and Universal at Halloween. It was the best vacation I had as a child.

:wizard: Our first trip was in 1983 at the Polynesian....we only had 2 kids at the time....Epcot had just opened and there wasn't that much there to see. After that we have never been able to do the Poly again!!

December 1972 we went for my 6th birthday :yay:

We camped in a pop up camper in FW. LOVED LOVED LOVED River Country!

Mr Toad's Wild Ride scared both of my brothers. Snow White's ride scared me!

I have no clue. I was born in '75 and visited a few times pre Epcot. The family went to Daytona for spring break every year till I was in H.S. and we would take day trips to Disney. Very fond memories!!!

Summer of 1991. I was 8, and my parents decided to take me and my 2 younger sisters to WDW for our family vacation that year. We'd just gotten a brand new Chrysler Voyager minivan, and I remember that my parents would take us on long rides a few months before our actual trip in order to practice for the drive from Jackson (Mississippi) to Orlando, lol. I can't say I blame them. At that point, we'd never been on a road trip that long before.

We'd been to other theme parks on vacation before, but once we walked through the gates of the MK, my whole family got sucked into the magic, and other parks tat we visited afterward always ended getting compared to WDW. It was the first park where we could all do most of the rides together. It was so much fun finally being able to ride rides with both of my parents and see them have some real fun, too! Some of the happiest family memories of my life are from WDW.

I'm pretty sure it was Oct in 1982. We went to MK and a few days later Epcot opened. We saw it on the news and begged and begged to go but my Dad said no. Once was enough he thought.

1971, age 24. First attraction we saw was Country Bears. Came out, turned around and our 4 year old daughter was gone. Panic. Went to a ticket booth (yes, they had ticket booths throughout the park then), the CM called and told us our daughter was at the lost and found. Went to pick her up and she was having a ball sitting on the floor, playing with toys and the CMs.

I was four. 1984. Epcot was a big deal. And I really did fly in a pirate ship on Peter pans flight!
