When was your first trip?-ours was 15yrs ago today!

Magic Kingdom still had 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Mr. Toad! :)

Ah yes - in 1990 remember both of these well. This year we went to California for the first time and rode both of these again 20 years later - except now 20000 Leagues is Nemo themed.

Remember riding the Skyway over Fantasyland as well - shame they got rid of it.

This is a really good thread! My husband and I first went to the World in July 1990. We had been saving up for a trip to New Zealand but decided on a trip of a lifetime to DisneyWorld. We have been lucky to go every year since and in 5 weeks will enjoy our 25th trip! In 1990 we stopped at the Marriot on International Drive (now the Wyndham) and flew with British Caledonian. To be honest we had no idea what to expect and hoped it wouldn't be some cheesy funfair. Needless to say we were somewhat overwhelmed and certainly hooked! As the previous posts have said, it was so different then and it is amazing how everything has grown. We struggled to get a hot tea in 1990, we went without a car hire and used transportation such as 'Rabbit Buses and Mears' We used to eat at a place called Morrisons Cafeteria which we loved but has long gone, we tend to use Sweet Tomatoes a lot now. So here we are, a house full of memories, thousands of photographs, hours of videos and believe it or not we never did make it to New Zealand!

!998 was our first trip All star sports, went in October and had no car, at the end we were a bit fed up of Disney as we did not venture off property, done about a dozen trips since and always stay off property and always have a car.

OMG how weird I saw this today!! It was exactly 15 years ago today. We were originally supposed to leave on the 13th, but I think it would have been Friday the 13th so we got an extra 3 nights at the Marriot hotel before going to the Villa in Kissimmee.

We stayed for 5 weeks!! 10th Oct to the 10th Nov! Lovely villa in Lindfields.

I was 10 and my brother was 8. We did all the parks except Busch which I think was new then. Animal Kingdom wasn't open yet. :O

Back to the future ride!!! Alien encounter. Mermaids myths and legends. Was soooooo hot I remember my feet burning as I walked around lol.

My first time was June 14th 1998,a graduation presnt to myself, a package with virgin. It was me my then 5 and 18 month olds and my ex. We stayed 14 nights at the quality inn i-drive, hardly had any money for anything but absolutley loved it! It was also my first ever time on a plane, so even the airport seemed magical! For me, in them days staying onsite would have been a dream come true and some of the places i've been to since-i would never have imagined. But, nothing will EVER be able to recapture the feeling inside me on that first trip!

We went a further 5 times on the trot after that, mostly a lot my grander than the 1st, but it just proves that while you do need money for Florida, that on it's own will not make or break your memories. It's what you make of it and when you really do believe you are fortunate just to have made it there rather than just see it as 'we're off again' type of thing, it really is so special and every single moment you kind of capture and make memory postcards of, for years to come!

Next year, we are going back after what will be a 6 year break. We stopped going because we felt we didn't appreciate it any more. I now have 4 children and only the youngest-he will be 3 is really into Mickey mouse and as the others have all been, i thought let's give it a go again and let him experience it all. Even though I'm excited, I can wait for once, for next august to come round-as i have to save for it all, lol. It's been lovely reading everyones memories!

I was 4 when I was first taken by my parents and have been going every year since. So that makes about 26 times as 3 the last 3 years i have been twice a year. I think MK and EPCOT were the only parks that were open when I went.
I need to have a look through for some pics, I know my parents have some from the 70's I believe, when you used to get tickets for the rides lol

Our first time was end May/beginning June 2001 and we managed to see the 100 years of magic theming. Out of the 10 years (from then till now) we've been a total of 7 times (only going once per year) - so not many years of not going!
Our intention was only to go the once, but we were hooked!
Going to Disneyland California in 2011 for a change and to clock up our 3rd Disney theme park. Can't Wait :woohoo:

Mine was 31st October 1994. I was ten and it was my life long ambition to go to Disneyworld:laughing:. My Dad kept saying to make the most of it as it was a "Once In a Life Time Holiday" - in May we got back from our 15th Trip :rotfl2:.

our 1st trip in on sunday , dh has been twice before but myself and ds have never been

Our was in 2003. The kids were 5 & 7 and it was meant to be a 'once in a lifetime' trip.

We will be having our fourth 'once in a lifetime trip' this Christmas.:)

See Signature! We first went on Honeymoon and have never looked back, we seem to love it more as we get older. Now that we have young children we find ourselves doing more/different things each time. It the only place we want to go on holiday. It convinced us to buy DVC and even the in-laws and outlaws that were skeptical have been converted!
