When was the last time you took a flight somewhere?

Flew from Chicago to Shanghi China, then Shanghi China to Xi'an China on June 18th of this year. Then flew back Xi'an to shanghi, shanghi to Chicago on the 28th of June. Chicago to Shanghi was 13 1/2 hour flight, and then 2 hour flight from Shangi to Xi'an. Great trip! Will never forget my time spent there with my second family! It was a wonderful 10 days, but too long of a airplane flight for me! Got some great memories, pictures, and video. Once in a lifetime opportunity. First time I had ever been out of the country. Last time I flew was when i was a kid (im 27 now) when we flew to Orlando to go to disney.

DD and I flew on Memorial Day this year.

We fly at least 3-4 times a year. DH travels for work on occasion so he does more than we do.

April - for a weekend in Dallas

We are flying to KY in September, then to Orlando in October! :goodvibes

GREAT to hear that your China trip worked out!

Did you run into any concerns about the H1N1 "swine" flu on your trip?

I know of two people whose travel plans were affected. One had her trip cancelled by the Chinese goverment, because they thought Iowa had a lot of swine flu cases. Another friend had the misfortune of sitting near someone on the plane who had a fever and was coughing, and got quarantined the entire time she was in China! And she never even got sick! :sad2:

No H1N1 concerns on my trip, thank goodness! The men came in and took our temps on the plane, a guy in the 2nd cabin had a fever, so they had to quarantine him and the three rows in front of him and behind him, glad I wasnt near him. I couldn't have had a better time. and the hospitality of the family was great, they treated me like royalty, went out to eat every meal at the big fancy restaurants where you get your own room. every meal was in my honor and speeches were given to me at every meal. They didn't want me to spend any of my own money to pay for any of the souveniers and gifts to bring back home! I did talk to her dad who is in the government about the swine flu and he said if I had a fever when I arrived and they quarantined me that he would have flown right away to shanghi and got me out of there and took me back to Xi'an, thats how high up he is in the government over there in his city. I will have to upload my pics to photobucket soon and post them on here to share. Although I did miss my kids, and got homesick. I talked to them pretty much on a daily basis on QQ (the chinese instant messenger system)
