Yes I am asking just wondering with today's technology how that's possible I have to search my phone for the app to dial out my aunt can still but dial me on a weekly basis I just thought that went away with smart phones

I have never butt dialed anyone.
I have been butt dialed. We have a mix of Android and iPhones as our company phones, and iPhones are the only ones I have been butt dialed from, HOWEVER one of the phones was sitting next to me when it dialed me, laying on a desk. Our IT guys discovered that this can be an issue with iPhones if they are not powered off for a long time (as in weeks). Doing a power down and back up fixed the issue.

Really because I have a iPhone and it takes a lot for me to dial someone but I well admit it's even harder to make a call from a android phone I know cause dh has one

I have never butt dialled because if I'm home, my phone is next to me and if I'm out my phone stays in my purse. I have been butt dialled by my dad and my husband.

I don't recall ever butt dialing anyone, but my first phone used to call people all on it's own without ever touching it. It would be sitting on my bedside table and I would suddenly here someone saying "Hello?" over and over again. It was creepy. :scared:

I don't quite remember. I know it was one of those 'pay-as-you-go' phones. When it first happened, I thought it was a weird fluke. Then it kept happening and I tried to tell my mom, she didn't believe me until I she borrowed my phone for a day and it happened to her.

After that she got me a new one. I never had that problem again. I swear that phone was possessed.

I had a trac phone which is a pay as you go phone it was when I was in between phones long story but never had that happen to me

But if my phone ever calls any one like that I will be calling my phone company and asking what is up

I don't think I've ever butt dialed anyone, but dh and dd have both butt dialed me. Well actually, dd's phone was in her purse, so I guess that would be a purse dial. Lol

I may not have butt dialed..... but I have wrongly "voice dialed" people while driving. I try to call one person and it dials another. It's worse as your contact list grows.

I don't really butt dial but I certainly butt take pictures. Just yesterday I took about 15 pictures of the inside of my back pocket :)

I haven't butt dialed anyone in years (I have an iPhone) but my fiancé does it all the time. He has a Samsung and when he forgets to exit out of the messaging app before locking his phone it has a tendency to call the last person he sent a text to. He butt dialed my phone while I was at work once and by the time he figured out what his phone was doing I had a 15 minute message on my VM of him talking to bank tellers.

Glad you brought this up, I have to laugh. I had to get up twice to answer the phone and it was dear husband and he had no clue he called me. And here I was yelling at him and he could not hear me.....:rotfl:and he has a iphone

I accidentally dialed 911 from my watch a couple of months ago. The Apple Watch has a feature where you do an emergency dial of 911 from your watch by pressing on it in a certain way, and I accidentally did it as I was walking into our house laden with my briefcase, lunchbox, and a million other things. I immediately realized and disconnected the call before I thought it had connected, but the dispatcher ended up calling the house and a policeman came to the house just to check anyway. I was so embarrassed (and annoyed at myself for wasting the policeman's time), but they were very nice about it. I had my DH disable that feature right away!

Not for years. I am in the habit of locking my phone before I put it in my pocket. It also has password/Touch ID enabled. I do not have "Hey Siri" enabled because there is the potential of saying someone's name and Siri dialing them up. Voice dictation is also off. My DD had a problem with accidentally sending people voice messages when she would say their name with this on. It would take a LOT of weird, unlikely combinations that could never be repeated for me to accidentally "butt dial" someone.

I have never done that. My phone is either on a table/stand in the house in either the family room, kitchen, or bedroom or it's in my purse. And it has to be unlocked before you can do anything with it.
