When was the last time you ate pizza?

With several threads discussing pizza, I was just wondering.

We ordered a pizza last weekend from a local pizza place. Probably order it again tomorrow as our middle DS is coming in from Charleston and loves this place's pizza. It's rather thick crust with lots of meat, sauce, and Mozella so I will call it Mid Michigan Small Town style pizza!! Yum.

...our Kroger store has Mondays.... they can't sell it all...so Tuesday we purchase the fresh pizza half price...cook it...then into the freezer by slice for extreme emergency breakfast.

In about 30 minutes. I've been cleaning all day and I'm too tired to cook. Papa Johns owes me a free pizza, so that's my dinner along with a salad.

Wednesday we had the last of a Hawaiian pizza we ordered last Monday from our favorite local place.

Walking through Spain last year pizza saved us several times. Many places didn't open for dinner until 8 or 9 pm and we wanted to be getting ready for bed at that time so we could get up early the next morning. Or we might be looking for something on a Sunday when most restaurants in a town were closed. Or we might be in a bar-restaurant where the menu del dia was kind of slim pickings. We probably ate more pizza in our 6 weeks walking the Camino than we'd eaten in the previous 6 months.

Two weeks ago. We have it once every three months or so. Just too darn expensive to have more often. Growing up in the 1960's, money was tight and pizza growing up was a Chef Boyardee pizza kit made at home, or a cheap grocery store frozen pizza, with my mom adding toppings at home. I was in College before I had a pizza from a pizza parlor.

Last weekend at Vince's. He ordered two stadium style pizzas, 4 topping sections --cheese only, cheese and sausage, cheese and pepperoni, and cheese, sausage, mushroom and giardiniera. Crust was a bit thicker than thin.

I do make them on low carb tortillas, pizza soup and pizza casserole.

Ok, now I have to ask you how it was? I remember reading that the original family sold it and have wondered if the food changed at all. More importantly, do they still offer fried calzones?

Last weekend! A new pizza place that makes sourdough crust opened and it was awesome.

The did sell! It’s still pretty close to how it has always been. The thin crispy crust, bright note in the sauce, cheese… very near to the original. And they still do the calzones and zeppoles!

Had some cooked in the oven frozen on Tuesday as part of a birthday celebration for one of my brothers. Unfortunately… the celebration was over by 7:30 as I ended up being involved in a verbal fight

{{sigh}} Indeed I do remember because I ended up sick all night. It was this past Wednesday and in honour of the first Raptors game of the regular season, I grabbed pizza and wings on the way home. I really enjoyed it but I knew I was being reckless. I have dreadful GERD and food that heavy and rich almost always does me in. It will be a while before I have pizza again.

Last week I had Rising Crust, Pepperoni, DiGiorno Pizza. After consuming a bigly amount of Pizza's in my lifetime. I found the store bought, frozen one to be my favorite and a whole lot less expensive. And the best part is that I always have one in my freezer ready for anytime the mood hits me. Twenty minutes in the oven, no calls for delivery or going out of my home. I guess it is one of the short cuts old people make.

Before anyone says... "It's not like authentic pizza", I agree. I had pizza in Naples, Italy a few years back and that is as authentic as one can get. However when it comes to American Pizza, it is just as good as any and for my personal tastes I even like it better than the authentic one.
