When was BCV last renovated?

There have been several soft goods replacements, but zero full renovations at BCV. DVC doesn't renovate as often as the hotels because members pay for all the renovations.

A "renovation" was just completed at VWL. Before that OKW (about three years ago) and BWV (about four years ago). OKW went about 17 years until the first renovation.

Soft goods renovations occur all the time. That include minor painting, replacing bedding, replacing televisions, etc. But not redoing the total look.

VWL was built just before BCV...which sold out very quickly if memory serves me. So it stands to reason that BCV will probably see a major update in a year or two if they hold to the typical schedule.

As for the OP question about the condition of the villas, I'll leave that to others. We've stayed at BCV twice but it has been a few years now since our last stay.

BC is currently undergoing a complete overhaul this fall beginning around September. THEN YC gets it THEN BCV slated to get it. I would figure 2017

I am sitting in my one bedroom villa as I type this. While the overall condition of our room is ok, I am shocked at some of what I am experiencing. The hot water knob of my kitchen sink came off in my daughter's hand. The hot water knob of my bathtub came off in my hand. The cap over the hardware for a towel bar popped off. The electric burners for the stove are all on a slant, so eggs were pooling to one side of the frying pan. The toaster seems to have two settings, barely any heat, or burnt. That's all I've noticed so far. The room is generally clean, the furniture in good shape. The bed seems fine. TVs are working just fine, not that we've used them too much.

The only thing really annoying me right now is all the leaking water (coming from thr sky).

It is my understanding that BCV is being renovated "sometime in 2014". I really thought it would have been completed by now. When we were there in December I thought it really looked tired and worn. I'm hoping the renovation will be do e before we arrive in May.

It will not be done in May sorry! They were one year late starting the bc renovation so that puts everyrhing behind. Bcv wull not get done until yc done which diesnt start until 2015 late fall

Are you sure?
I believe the BCV renovation will start as BC is nearing completion, not after the YC is complete.

Not the wAy the bc yc resort manager explained to me In june...unless something changed in last 6 weeks

I had heard this as well. Hoping it's true.... BCV is a distressed property in my opinion

We stayed at BCV this past June and I didn't have any problem with the room or the resort as far it being tired and worn. I remember a thread a while back about how bad the carpeting was getting in the common areas and hallways and I didn't notice any of that. In fact, BCV moved to number one on our resorts list, knocking Kidani down a notch.

The carpets in the hallways have been worn for a few years now. They should not be allowed to get this bad. The resort needs some TLC. Just my opinion.

It needs a lot in my opinion....very tacky for Disney....testing carpet in the halls???....really???...the Plaza & Ritz do that all the time, right in plain view of the guests......it looks like they ran out of the old carpeting and needed to replace a section, so they patched it with the latest from Carpet World......testing carpet

We were there in March and did not notice wear and tear. We were in the last room at the far end of the wing and had hot water issues (not getting much in one shower), but that was it. Granted that is relatively serious but not in bad shape other than that with anything we saw in our week there.

Couldn't agree more. What they were using was not for testing, it was a quick fill option so there was something there. The carpet they were using was more fitting for BLT, but is terribly out of place for BCV.

It's disgusting! And not very Disney like.

Stayed there for the first time a year ago and was shocked at my studio. Straight out of 1993. It was very disappointing. I'd rather have stayed at any of the Moderates than that.

I doubt it was out of 1993 because BCV didn't open until about 2001 or 2002. The theming may be what you don't like.
