Please walk to the side of the aisle and not in the middle. Thank you!

or at a snails pace, diagonally across the main lane, in a group of 20 while stopping to take your phone out and dial...yes, I was at Walmart yesterday.

Ha ha! This drives my husband CRAZY!

I know, I know! I'm sure there is a good reason for walking slowly down the middle of an aisle but I just haven't figured it out. ;)

Fear of walking too closely to parked cars is a hidden disability. Hopefully a support animal will be around soon to take care of this problem for everyone. :thumbsup2

My Mom learned to do this (and it drives me nuts) at a safety class. They were teaching these as a way to avoid the threat of someone grabbing you and pulling you into a car or tossing you into a trunk.
I replied what about the more daily threat of getting hit by a car?

Oh and as a former mall employee I am always walking with my keys between my fingers to act as a weapon, walking quickly and checking under my car as I approach. I must look like a psycho in my own way too! But at least I'm not blocking the aisle!

Oh one more I forgot, my daughter was doing this and I asked what are you doing? She also was taught it in safety class at school to avoid getting hit by someone as they back out of a spot.
So 2 "taught" reasons for the walk in the middle of the road.:scared1:

And for all that is holy, if you have young kids either hold their hands - even if they don't want to hold yours - or have them in a cart.

My girlfriend witnessed a 4 year old getting hit - was actually more like him hitting the car - as he had a fit about holding onto his dads hand. The car was slowly driving past, when the kid yanked away from dad and lunged into the driving area and ran smack dab into the drivers side door. And the car wasn't right up on them. The kid took several steps before he hit the car. But because he was looking over his shoulder to see what dad was doing, he never saw the car.

My friend was walking towards the group and stayed to be a witness. As well as the driver of the car that was behind the car that the kid bounched off of. According to that driver, the car in front of him was riding their brakes the whole time.

I sort of agree> I mean I hate when people walk down the center of the isle and you are trapped> However, We were in DH small car and there was a big SUV parked next to us. A mom and her child were walking very close to other cars. We almost didn't see her, she wasn't there when we started backing out, because she was hidden by the SUV. That was scary.

And if there are four or five of you, you do not need to walk in a side by side line all the way from one side of the aisle to the other, blocking traffic in both directions. And you don't need to do that at the mall, either.

This is our church parking lot, every Sunday morning.

We attend the 11 o'clock service, but arrive when the 9:30 service is getting our around 10:30ish. Our church parking lot is set up so that you have to enter it a certain way and then skip to aisles before you can go back down an aisle. The two main aisle, happen to be right near the church building entrance, and people just walk out of the church and into the middle of the two main aisles, so going up or coming down we are having to sit and wait while we try to find a parking space.....except for the other irk, which is people will stop and talk in groups in the middle of an aisle. Hendering those who are trying to LEAVE and those who are coming in for the 11 o'clock service.

My husband keeps muttering about "giving them a tap." I have to remind him that we are at church -- it's Sunday -- and clearing those thoughts out of his head before he even thinks about having an open accepting mind for service.

Wait a minute. You are telling me that I shouldn't aimlessly walk down the middle of the aisle. Next you will be telling me I shouldn't be yakking on my cell phone while doing this.

Ugh!!!! I hate this!! After you creep along behind them for a minute or so, one will turn around cluelessly and notice there's a car behind them. They will then usually leisurely mosey over to the side so you can barely squeeze by. Most of the time, it's just an example the "it's all about me" mentality, not "I'm walking in the middle of the aisle for safety".
