DVC website offers you to waitlist entire stay, even if one or more nights ARE available.

Should I go with that option, or try to book available nights separate and then waitlist each non available night on its own?

Example:

Night 1 Night 2 Night 3 Night 4
x available x available

Thanks!

I totally agree with the above. I will add that it helps to keep checking availability. We had a wait list that did not work, but we caught the night when checking. The system is good but not perfect :)

I had a similar experience that T00dles had. Waitlisted portion of a stay and checked frequently with Member Services and just happen to land a night while on the phone.

Thank you!

Will keep checking, didn't think that was necessary having the waitlist active!

When I talked to ms it seems as though wait lists are still filled by hand. But there seems to be a bot that will hold the reservation.

It was complicated how we put together our DEC trip to VGF. We booked the first night and wait listed either side. The one night on the back end came through. So we redid the wait lists. But none of the other 7 nights came through on wait list. One we had a wait list for, but there was some glitch and we were lucky to find it and grab it. All the others were found through us checking. There seems to be lots of movement in the week before and after the 7 month mark.

Yes, that's what we were also told. The program will grab the available day, but a CM has to take care of processing the reservation. So if you have a waitlist and you see it disappear from your dashboard, but you don't see the reservation, most likely it's being held and waiting for someone to process it.
