When waitlisting, how do I change the the original reservation date I want to replace

I made a waitlist reservation this morning for the Grand Cal for 1/30 and requested that if I get the reservation they cancel my previous reservation for 1/23. Only thing is I am going to try again tomorrow to reserve 1/31 asa backup. If i get it though, when the waitlist comes through I would want it to replace this 1/31 reservation, as I will have already cancelled the 1/23 reservation in order to make the 1/31. I only have enough points for one day and don't want them to automatically borrow points if the wait list comes through. I also don't want to make a new waitlist tomorrow when I get the 1/31 reservation as I will lose my spot in line and reduce my chances of getting the day I really want. Is there any way to update the reservation you want to replace online? Or can they just do it if I call tomorrow and explain? Hope this makes sense, I am happy to clarify and any advice would be appreciated.

Don't believe you can make that type change on line without cancelling the waitlist and starting over. Call MS and see if they can help. They are open until 7:30 pm Eastern tonight.
