When out trick-or-treating, yourself or with your kids remember to:
- Wear reflective tape, a glow bracelet, or something else to make sure others can see you at all times- especially when crossing the streets.
- Always walk with a buddy. If you get lost, look for a woman who is handing out treats and ask them if they could use their phone to call someone.
- Carry around some tissues and a bottle of water in case you are feeling a bit tired.
- If the forecast calls for rain, be sure to bring an umbrella along just in case.
- If you are cold as soon as you step outside, make sure to bring a sweater or jacket to put on top or underneath your costume to keep warm.
- Only visit lit up houses. If there are no lights on, or no decorations, move on to the next home.
- DON'T eat your treats until you get home. Make sure to pour everything out and check everything you recieved. Make sure that no wrappers are opened, and everything is sealed properly.
- Check that your costume is not dragging on the ground. It can not only rip and tear, it can hurt yourself and others around you.
