When out trick-or-treating, yourself or with your kids remember to:
  • Wear reflective tape, a glow bracelet, or something else to make sure others can see you at all times- especially when crossing the streets.
  • Always walk with a buddy. If you get lost, look for a woman who is handing out treats and ask them if they could use their phone to call someone.
  • Carry around some tissues and a bottle of water in case you are feeling a bit tired.
  • If the forecast calls for rain, be sure to bring an umbrella along just in case.
  • If you are cold as soon as you step outside, make sure to bring a sweater or jacket to put on top or underneath your costume to keep warm.
  • Only visit lit up houses. If there are no lights on, or no decorations, move on to the next home.
  • DON'T eat your treats until you get home. Make sure to pour everything out and check everything you recieved. Make sure that no wrappers are opened, and everything is sealed properly.
  • Check that your costume is not dragging on the ground. It can not only rip and tear, it can hurt yourself and others around you.

    Have anything to add?

Thanks for the reminders. The most important this is to keep all our little ghosts and goblins safe. :thumbsup2

I want to add something. If it's a little child like around the ages of 7 or 9 or something like that stay close to mommy and/or daddy or whatever adult is with you. When me and my big sister used to go trick-or-treating when we were around the ages of like 10 and 7 our mother was always with us. I mean we could go knock on the door of a house without her standing right there, but she was always very close by.

Back when I was around 7 years old the world was not always a safe place. My mother wanted me to have fun, but she also wanted to keep me safe. Today the world might be even worse. Anyways all I am saying is parents should keep a close eye on their children on Halloween night, because there are bad people out there.

Also when I was talking about my big sister I was not talking about DreamFlight. DreamFlight really is my big sister in water, but she is not my blood sister. When I say my blood sister I am talking about the girl who has the same biological parents as me. Now DreamFlight does not have the same biological parents as me, but she is still my real sister. So I use the word water when I say DreamFlight is my real sister. DreamFlight is my water sister and I also have my blood sister and they are both my real sisters and I love them very much

Great reminders. I just got done making up our goody bags yesterday. We will pass out candy for a little while and then head out with DS! I just love Halloween! :teeth:

According the leading Security expert in the U.S., Gavin De Becker, he says to tell kids to always go to a FEMALE adult when in trouble regardless of whether there is a man in a uniform nearby. In all research: In all species, cultures and ages, Males have proven to be the more violent of the species - and more likely to be the pedophile (in uniform as disguise) waiting for an opportunity.

I think my new goal in life is to be FC's water brother. If not that, then milk brother.

rofl Tell the kids that come around here that. We give out treats, but some neighbors don't and if the door gets knocked on, they answer and yell at the kids about how Halloween celebrates the devil.

Don't forget to stay far enough away from the lit pumpkins. Your costume could catch on fire. Saw it on a TV show, but I'm sure it has happened before.
