When to try and see Wishes during trip?

I'm planning a trip for myself and a couple of first time visitors to WDW this coming June. We have 4-day hopper tickets and I'm planning on us hitting up Magic Kingdom on the last day of our trip. My question is should I plan for us to hop over to MK on an earlier evening to catch the Wishes show rather than waiting until the last day when we are visiting the park?

I know the show can get cancelled due to weather so I'm just wondering if that should be a concern for our trip. We are planning to be in the parks May 29th-June 1st.

If it's your highest PRIORITY, don't wait.

Otherwise, Wishes is actually seldom fully cancelled.

During the 3rd week of January this year, the weather turned wet, iffy and windy.
So that night, they actually started Wishes about a half-hour EARLY, so that's another possibility.

I've been to WDW once prior and I don't remember seeing Wishes but from what I hear it's a must-see. When I visited the park in Nov 2015 I honestly couldn't keep track of what fireworks were for what show. It seemed that throughout the late afternoon and evening there were short bursts of fireworks throughout.

I want to say I saw some sort of Frozen show at the castle stage where Elsa lit up the castle... and then maybe there was fireworks after? I have no idea.

If it's a must-see then I definitely want to make sure we can catch it as it might be the only visit my mother and nephew will ever make to WDW.

Another thing to know is that the "castle projection show" (Once Upon a Time) is also a very good show to see.
It is often performed either a half-hour BEFORE the Wishes start-time, or 30 to 45 min. after the Wishes start-time.

The "Frozen Holiday Wish" is a castle-lighting show that does offer VERY small fireworks as part of its presentation. It is only performed near Christmastime.

Is the castle projection show dependent on weather? If not then I'm fine catching that one on the day we are planning to spend in MK. If it is then I guess I would also try to ensure we hop over to MK on an earlier night to try and catch that as well as Wishes.

Not usually.
But, you don't want to be standing in a downpour to try to see it.

When they move the Wishes start time to an earlier slot as in this instance, is the showtime updated on the app so folks are aware? Or is it just a matter of being lucky and already having been in a spot for the show at the earlier time? Understanding of course that people are prone to snag spots for fireworks shows earlier than the posted start time.

Similar to my previous question, the showtime for the castle projection show would be posted on the app ahead of time so folks would know what to plan for, correct?

1. Not in the instance of a "bad weather" change.
Those are last minute kind of changes.
2. Yup.
3. Those times are posted, yes.
