When to travel for Osborne lights

My husband and I decided to do an adults only short (3 total days) trip to see Osborne Lights and do some other evening activities in either November or December. When would you recommend going? I'm not sure if we will go over a weekend or during some week days (have to see after my mom watches my son (not yet 2) alone for a long weekend later in April. But when would you recommend going when the lights will be up with the least crowds.

We've done Osbornes 3 separate times....Both during Jersey week...Or actually at the end of it to be honest....Usually the 1st day it opens to the public , is either the night before we leave, or close to it. This also always coincides with the end of F&W Festival, which we as a family also enjoy, so of course I'd recommend going at this time.. Usually around Nov. 6th,7th, or8th.

The week following Thanksgiving is historically a lower-crowd time.

If you are going to do a weekend, just don't do the weekend immediately after Thanksgiving.

As PP said, if you go at the very beginning of Osborne Lights, you might also hit the end of F&W which would be a fun adults only evening. If you wait in Nov until the second or third week, you'll still have Osborne Lights and some Christmas decorations and you could do the MVMCP, but that will be all. If you can put your trip after Thanksgiving, all the Christmas stuff will be up and going...Osborne, Candlelight Processional, EP Storytellers. MVMCP.

Definitely not Thanksgiving week. We did it Thanksgiving week (the Monday before Thanksgiving) a few years ago and it was miserably crowded. Since The World has gotten even more popular since then, for us, I imagine it would be unbearable now.
