Hello,

I'm sure it's somewhere in the boards...but when would you recommend I send invitations out for a July 25, 2011 wedding? And when should my guests reply back with there RSVPs by?

Thanks.

I have also been looking for cute Disney sayings for my RSVP cards on disboards but had no luck. I particularly like the Mickey's "Oh Boy!" and Goofy's "Garwsh!" <-- Not quite sure of the spelling.

Any suggestions?

I think most places say 6 weeks, however, I think 8 weeks (2 months) is probably your best bet, especially with a destination wedding. Are you/have you sent out save the dates? I put my RSVP for a month before the wedding, just to give those stragglers a chance to respond. You don't need to know an actual count before 72 hours before the wedding, so you have plenty of time. A month just gave me extra time to get in contact with people, allow for people to respond late, etc.

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks for your reply. We do not plan on sending out any save the date cards. But the timing sounds good for both the invitation and RSVP reply date.

I would just make sure to give your guests plenty of time to make arrangements if you aren't sending out a save the date. Although if you are just having a small wedding with family, I suppose everyone will know the date anyways! :)

Yeah, everyone pretty much knows the date. It's just a matter of making sure everybody books their vacation. :thumbsup2

I have another question I'd like to put out there. I am going to have information cards in my invitation suite. What kind of information should I include for my quests?

I'm sending my save the dates a year out, and then my invites about 5-8 months out (havent decided quite yet). Many of my guests will need to make travel arrangements and I want them to have plaenty of notice and all the info possible to do so. Since guests can book the hotel within that time frame.

I sent my invitation about 3 months before the date and gave everyone about a month and a half to send back the RSVPs. I sent them at the 2nd week of March and asked for them back by April 20th.

I should say that I sent out my save the dates about 6 months before the wedding... and then I sent out an email right before I could make my final changes to my room block. This made sure that the guests booked their hotel rooms and I could drop any rooms at that point that weren't taken. We ended up having way more nights than our room block! Lol.

For information, I put my website information (which tells them registry information, hotel information, travel information, directions, etc.). I also gave them driving directions (a lot of my guests are driving their own cars) and made sure to mention that they did not have to pay for parking at the MK toll booth. If you are having transportation for your guests (bus, limo, etc.), maybe you could put that information in your invitation?

Hey! My wedding is 6 days after yours, July 31! Go us! We are sending our invites out the very beginning of April and having them RSVP by the end of May. My planner said you want to be as accurate as you can before the 30 day mark because that's when you have to fork over the cash. HTH!

Our wedding is June 6th, 2011, and we sent out our invites about a month ago, and asked for guests to RSVP by last Friday (I will add we are still waiting for about 10 reply cards... grrr). I wanted to get our invites out early because I know most of our guests knew whether they were coming or not already, and how many guests will affect our budget so we wanted to know far enough ahead of time who was coming.
