When to select your FP+ times?

I just got my Exchange Certificate for my PAP. Can I make my FP+ selections for our upcoming trip in Oct even if they are just certificates and not actual PAP's. If I can make these, when can i start to do this 60 days or 30 days? Thanks for your help.

You should be able to make FP+ reservations with the exchange certificate. You can attempt to link each exchange cert to a My Disney Experience account whenever you wish. Each member in your party either needs their own MDE account or must be managed by someone with a MDE account. Make sure you only link one certificate to each individual.

FP+ reservations cannot be made until 60 days prior to arrival if you have a Disney hotel reservation. 30 days if no reservation.

I am planning on buying our AP online through Disney, then selecting our FP choices the next day.

What is the Exchange Certificate? Is that something that comes in the mail? Will my plan not work?

I just did this, though I ordered online. The confirmation number you get when you place the order is added into MDE. The same number applied to all four members of my family. I was able to start booking FP's about two minutes after I placed my order.
