When to say it's on DDP?

Do we have to do say that we are using the dining plan when we order the meals in a restaurant? This Magic band thing has me rather confused...

At table service restaurants the server will ask if you are on the dining plan the first time they come to your table and then they'll explain the dining plan to you.
