How soon does VWL get fully booked?

I am planning a trip in Sept and would like to stay at the VWL. I am not a DVC member so I would have to rent points from someone here in the boards. My problem is that my wife wants my inlaws to come with us, and my FIL does not know if he can take off from work at that time .

If it is just my wife and son, then I would try to get a 1br right now. But if my inlaws come I would need a 2br.

I really want to stay at VWL, so how long should I wait for my inlaws to decide?

September is not a particularly crowded month, so that should help. The 7 month booking window for a September stay at VWL is right now, so that means that any DVC owner can be booking there.

With DVC, sooner is always better than later for planning. I guess the question is...how much are you willing to gamble? Would you be satisfied with staying somewhere else such as SSR or OKW? Are your September dates flexible?

The more flexible you are with the dates or locations, the better your chances. Personally, I wouldn't go much longer without reserving, but then again I'm not much of a gambler.
