When to pull the trigger and stop waiting?

We are doing a 8 night split stay (Riveria 2 bdroom and Contem 2 bedroom) and have everything confirmed except one night in the middle at Rivera which is currently waitlisted. I am torn between waiting it out vs booking the night with cash (currently unavailable as well) especially with the 60 day ADR coming up. How long should I wait and at what point would you stop waiting and lock in a cash stay?

Book a DVC room somewhere else and waitlist the Riviera. If it comes through, great, if not you still have somewhere to stay.

That's what I would do, book SSR or OKW or whatever you can get and waitlist Riviera or whatever you want. moving for one night would stink but me personally I'd rather do that than pay cash for a room.

of course you can book cash and cancel it if your waitlist matches so if you don't mind paying cash rates that may not be a bad way to go either.

I don't see availability for my night but when I look at another night that is available it is $3,300.00 for 1 night

yes..it looks like a cash room isn't available anyway for Riveria. It will stink though because we would be staying one night at Riveria, moving to SS for one night, then back to Riveria for 2 nights, move to Cont for 4 nights. My family is going to kill me

Well you could switch to SSR for the first night as well if it's available, then at least you'd have 2 nights at each. Moving every night at the start of my trip would be too much for me unless I had no other option!

Very True!! But I would be giving up my first night at Rivera and having to waitlist 2 nights...but I see your point for sure!!

If you have the points to float you could keep the single Riviera night just to see if the waitlist matches soon. You're getting up on the timeframe where people really start to cancel. Remember that 31 days out is the deadline for cancelling without holding, so a lot of rooms open up within the 60-day mark.

But you won't have to spend the rest of your trip making friends with the local gators after your family accidently pushes you off one of Disney's many boats...

I don't have the points available to float...this is a Sun-Mon waitlist...hoping for the best!
