When to place Staples order?

Hi everyone! I've gotten great suggestions in the past, so... here's another question...

We are arriving at POR on Sunday 11/5. When do you think I should place my order with Staples (water) so that our package will be there when we arrive. I don't want the package to be hanging around the hotel too soon though.

I've never ordered water from Staples, but I wanted to give this a bump. Can anyone offer some insight?

I seem to remember reading something on this a while ago,, you might want to do a search on STAPLES WATER in here and see what type of hit you get

I've ordered it 4 times in the last year, usually a week ahead of time. Always thought that since we typically arrive on the weekend that I shouldn't factor those days into the delivery...appears that it isn't the case.

Deliveries to DVC properties tend to take 3-4 business days.

Delivery offisite (sheraton vistana) took 2 days less than one scheduled the same week as a WDW order...go figure .

Only during our last trip did the BCV insist that they never received my order (water & container of pretzels). I had to call rewards dept to fax them a copy of signed receipt (by manager-no less) and it was found w/o 8 hours...another negative for overall bad customer service issues we experienced there.

In all other instances the water was always waiting for us in our Villa, hope last experience was an isolated one...good luck.

BTW, even w/o my reward # or invoice #, I was able to call a Staples store, get connected to the reward dept & the receipt was faxed within minutes...now that's great customer service IMO.

I ordered my water and the very next day it was at my disney resort... plus after we checked in they delivered it right to our room..

I just ordered for delivery to SSR .....our arrival was Sat 10/14 so I wanted the water there by Friday 10/13. I ordered on Tues 10/11 with a scheduled delivery by Staples on 10/12. Late in the afternoon on 10/12 I checked the Staples site to be sure it had been delivered, but, it was still showing only received at the Staples Distribution Center in Orlando not delivered. I thought maybe they input info overnight so I checked again Friday morning....still showing not delivered. I called Staples (I agree great customer service) and they checked into it, called me back, stating it had been delivered but for some reason was not in system yet. She gave me the person's name at SSR who had received it and the time it was received. She also said she spoke to SSR and they told her bottled water and such is received in a different area than something we would send ourselves (I guess a FedEx, UPS or USPS package) Probably a central receiving area for truck items. So, if possible check before you leave to make sure your order has been received. It will save you time and trouble when you get there. Sure enough, when we got there on Saturday and I inquired about my packages the front desk told me I had one FedEx package. When I explained the other two were cases of water from Staples the front desk said they would have to check on that because it's not received at the front desk. It took about an hour, but, Bell Services delivered all three boxes to us.

If I order water for a DVC resort (Old Key West) is it delivered to the room or do we need to pick it up at the hospitality center?

You can ask to have it delivered to your room, but you'd first need to be checked in and assigned a room before Bell Services can do that.

We are also checking in on 11/5 and was wondering about when to order the water. I haven't decided yet between Tues. or Wed.
