When to make reservations?

We've never camped at WDW before, so I'm not sure if it has a different time frame than the other resorts. When would we need to make reservations for a tent camping site for next August, with AAA discount?

Also, and I realize the answer to this is more than likely "no", when they offer free dining, does that apply to campsites as well, or only for more expensive accomodations?

I think 500 days out is the max for rack rate reservations. I do believe AAA rates have come out for 2007, so go ahead and give them a call now.

The past two times free dining has been offered, the campsites have been excluded. (The cabins were included.)

It is always wise to make room-only reservations AS SOON AS you have an idea of your dates. You only need to put one-nights deposit down which is fully refundable up to 5 days prior to arrival. If/when codes come out, you can just call and have them applied to your reservations. AAA discounts for the following year are usually released in late July, early August.

i have a florida residence does the fort wilderness allowed the florida residence discount.

AAA rates are out for 2007. I just booked our trip for next year.

Sometimes you can get a Fl resident discount, sometimes an AP or AAA discount. Just seems to depend on how booked the resort is.

We got to WDW every 3 months since we live about 2 hours away. Sometimes we go sooner depending if my DD has a swim meet in Orlando. For example we are going to WDW and staying at the Ft. during 4 days out of the turkey weekend and will be there the weeked before the holidays becasue of a swim meet. If we had planned it right we would have stayed the entire 10 days but the Ft. is all booked up.

We have booked our 2007 turkey weekend over a year ahead of time, becasue of the popularity.

If you are going to book for the Ft., plan it way ahead of time especially during the holidays. If you don't book in time, call every morning starting at 7am and see if anyone has cancelled.
