When to make reservation - HELP

Our trip is Aug 28 to Sept 6 (96 days till the trip). When can I and should I make reservations?? My daughters are 7 yrs old (almost 8 at the trip time). Whcih ones will they enjoy????

I was looking at following: (also suggest if we shuld do B, L or D)

CRT
Crystal Palace
Garden Grill
1900 Park Fare
Cape May Cafe
Arkershus Banquet
Fantasmic

Please suggest any additions or deletions since I have no idea. It is out first time there. We are also vegetarians - can we find vegetarian food there?

You can make your reservations now. You can book restaurants 180 days out. Which ones your daughters would enjoy depends on what kind of food and/or characters they enjoy.
CRT is popular and there might not be any openings when you are going. We will be taking DD to CRT for the first time for dinner on our Nov. trip, so I can't give any opinions about it.
Akershus is another option if your daughters like princesses. We ate breakfast here on our last trip and enjoyed it. The food at breakfast was very good and the princess interaction was wonderful. We will be returning for breakfast again on our Nov. trip.
Crystal Palace was one of DH favorite meals. So again we will be returning to have breakfast here. Don't know anything about lunch or dinner, I would like to try one of them, but DH is set on having breakfast here again.
We will be going to Garden Grill for the first time in Nov. We did eat at Liberty Tree Tavern in MK on our last trip and the food was fantastic. The menus are similar so I hope we enjoy GG as much as we did LTT.
1900 Park Fair was our least favorite dinner. The character interaction was great, but the food was not our favorite. It was ok, but we probably won't return. I can't comment on breakfast because we only had dinner there.
We have never been to Cape May Cafe so I can't give any opinions.
Another character meal that you don't have listed is Chef Mickey's. We ate dinner here last September and it was good.
I think any of your choices will be fine. If you want to look at menus allears.net has the menus with prices (although the prices aren't always correct).
I think most restaurants have vegetarian options, but I'm not 100% sure. Maybe somebody else can answer that question.

Reservations can be make 180 days before your vacation. You may have to keep checking everyday to try and make the reservations you want at this point. Many of the places you listed (CRT, CP, Fantasmic...) are very, very popular and may already be booked.

People have actually been booking those dates for some time, and since it's during free dining, they go quickly.

If you don't find what you want, keep checking back. And find the August and September cancellation threads so you'll have notice when someone's cancelling and ADR.

We are going around the same time (arriving the 3rd) and have been able to move around ADRs quite a bit. I was even able to move CRT for 6 people if we wanted to. OP, good luck getting your ADRs and if there are any you don't get right away, please keep checking back.

If you don't get your Fantasmic package go to Mama Melrose for dinner. Make a regular reservation. Then when you get seated ask your server about any cancelations for Fantasmic. We did this and our waitress came back and said she wasn't able to find any. We went to the front desk and asked about it and they noticed our desire to have the package. They ended up giving us tickets and not charging us the additional amount. It's always worth a shot. Sometimes you have to put that puppy dog face on and it will work wonders Good luck.

We also just ate at CRT and the food was great, but since you said you are vegetarian I would call and see what they can do. I didn't notice anything on the menus that didn't have some type of meat, but they may work with you. The restuarant is great and the characters are wonderful. Your DD will definitely enjoy it. They treat you so wonderful there.
