When to make park reservations for mid-Sept?

We're going Sept 14-19 (so before the 50th-anniversary festivities begin) but weren't sure when to make park reservations?

We have already booked our Sept/Oct reservations, like others have said, you can change them, but you can't make them if you wait too long and they are full. I suspect September will start to fill in quickly once people realize their October dates are filling up.

I made mine immediately after I bought our tickets. But I also had a game plan of what parks/what order I wanted to do. Also going in mid September!
