when to leave

we will be renting a car from thrifty, and will be driving from DTD to MCO to catch a 5:00pm flight. what time do you think we should leave in order to have enough time to return car, go through security etc.?

Hi....we have always flown with Virgin Atlantic which allows us to check in at the back ov the Virgin store in DTD so we dont take our bags or anything with us.
If you are checking in at the airport then i would leave DTD about 2 1/2 hrs before flight as car return about 20 mins from DTD is simple and always quick, then lugging your bags over and checking in can take a while dependant on airline and then going through security can be a nightmare, knowing airline food we always eat at the Outback in the terminal so we allow a little time for that.
