When to leave Universal for MCO?

Our flight is departing at 8:10 p.m. I'd like to check out of our room at PBH, check our bags with Bell Services, and spend the last day in one of the parks.
What time should we leave the park, go back to the hotel to collect our things and take a taxi to MCO?
How long does it take to get to the airport by taxi?
Will the lines at security at the airport be really long that time of the evening?

i usually take an early evening flight also.
i leave the hotel about 1 1/2 or 1 3/4 prior to my departing flight at MCO.

i use private car service and never had issues or worries of missing my flight.

the later evening flights i have been on, have been decent and quick getting thru security.
i always leave during the week for returning home. (t-w-th)


once you leave the park, it could take you 10 minutes to get back to your hotel to bell hop.
it does not take long to get your luggage.
since you want a cab, have the valet secure one for you.
let them know prior to getting your luggage.

from my experience, 20 minutes tops for me to do the above.

but, if you are worried, give yourself more time for the return back to the hotel.

there are town cars at the hotel you can use to return to MÇØ.
cost is $50.
find out that info before you check out.


i find that car service efficient.
they get you from one point to another as they usually have other guests scheduled after yours.

Thank you! We'll be traveling home on a Saturday, don't know if that matters as far as security.
If we leave the park about 2 or 2 1/2 hours before our flight, I guess we should be okay.
How long does it take to get from PBH to MCO?

it is about 14 miles away from the hotel so i guess it is more like 20 minutes.
depending on the day and time could make it be different.


i never travel on saturdays so i have no experience on security times at the airport.

i would think saturdays would have more peeps on the road in the evening too.
many go out on a saturday night and that could factor in travel time for you.


it is always better to be on the safe side and leave earlier than planned.
better to wait in an airport than to miss your flight.
