PLEASE PLEASE help me decide when to go to WDW. I just decided 2 days ago to book a quick trip (long weekend). I am having a lot of trouble deciding when to go for some reason. I think I've narrowed it down to mid-late August and mid-September. School is not an issue, by the way. I was leaning towards September because of the low crowds and because it's value season. But now I just remembered about all the hurricanes. Is there a difference in weather between Sept. & August? Is August considered hurricane season too? Please help me decide! I am going to drive myself crazy and I can't get any housework done until I get my air & hotel reservations made! LOL!!

I believe August is in there for the hurricanes also. At least late August(I don't know about early). Between the two I guess I would pick August. But if you're willing to wait a little bit longer, then I would say October. You can go to MNSSHP, and the weather, IMO, is perfect. Also, not that crowded b/c kids are in school again. Have fun, whenever you decide to go!!!

Hi Kimberly,

There is minimal difference in the weather between late August and mid September. Both are in hurricane season. But I would try not to worry about hurricane season...WDW had only closed for hurricanes ONE DAY in 33 years prior to 2004.

Crowds are quite manageable from mid-August until Labor Day, but then in mid-September the parks are pretty empty.

Have fun,

Bob

Since Sept. and August are both during hurricane season (so are June, July, and Oct.) I would defintely go during value season plus the parks are only at a crowd level of 1 so you will be able to do a lot more rides, go eat wherever and whenever you want to, and be able to just see the parks better without a ton of people being around. Especially since you are not going to be staying that long. I live in NC and there is always threats of hurricanes during this time but usually its not that bad. I don't know why people that are so crazy about Disney don't always go during the slow months even if it means taking the kids out of school and taking off work. If you want something bad enough there is always a way and the parks are sooo much better when they are not crowded and you don't have to wait in lines for rides. Why do Disney fanatics go when it is busy anyway?

Thanks for all the quick responses!! I *think* I'm going with September after reading your posts. October is out because we just decided that we are traveling back down in November for a week after Thanksgiving so I want to space the two trips out somewhat... Hopefully, this September won't be as bad as last September!!
