IF you had the option of going early December or late January/early February which would you choose? Which would be the lowest crowds and best rates?

the lowest crowds would be late January / early February. Honestly, the weather could be bad at either of the times of year.

Actually, the lowest crowds of the ENTIRE YEAR are in early December--about 4 days after Thanksgiving up until about Dec. 19th, when it starts to pick up again.

The Unofficial Guide to Disney (by Bob Sehlinger) charts attendance each week of the year at Disney, and early December is as low as it gets. We went from the 10th- 15th of Dec this year, and it was fantastic--we walked on to almost every ride at every park, it was great!

And what do you mean by bad weather, Brian???? Sunny and crisp in the low 60's to high 70's--that beats the summer heat and humidity any day--and you also don't get any of the summer afternoon rainshowers. Not to mention you're not battling hot, sweaty crowds--it's a no brainer!

We just went Dec. 3-7th and it was great.
Low crowds and high 60's to the low 80's. :cool1:

I would go early December because the Christmas decorations are up and you could experience Mickey Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP)!

Ditto for early Dec. Better chance for better weather, low crowds , and all the Christmas happenings! :cool1:

I am in the exact same dilemna kaymak!! We were deciding which of those exact times to make our trip. We actually had/have it planned in early December right now, but after reading the posts of increased crowds, disappointments in the MVMCP and POP WARNER week, I think I have been scared off into going end of January intead. But of course, I am the kind that doesnt care if it is a little cold if there are lesser crowds...the emptier the better for me. I am still debating though

My vote would go to early December. If you can avoid staying at All Stars/POP or which ever moderate Pop Warner Football attendees are housed at, then I think the parks themselves will be empty during the week. However, the weekends will be busy to very busy with the locals coming to see the Holiday Decorations and Festivities.

We are trying to go in December this year to see the decorations.....Typically we go in either early Feb or late Sept, to avoid crowds.

We went Dec. 3-7th and had no crowds and upper 60's to the lower 80's.
I didn't see any Pop Warner but when we went to catch our flight on December 7th we did see a bunch of cheerleaders getting off of a flight so maybe we got out just in time. I am already starting to plan for Dec. 2-6th again. I love walking around in such nice weather listening to Christmas carols and Christmas shopping!!
