never been to DL and this will be our only trip. 3 adults. when would you recommend going. i hear some things like parades are not scheduled during slow times. want to experience as much as possible hoping all is open and running.

I would go during the summer, including a Saturday, if I wanted everything up and running and long park hours.

Yes, during the summer and get a 5 day park hopper. Stay 6 nights so you can be at the gates when they open. That early morning in the parks, even if you do not have EE/MM, makes a big difference.

If you want as much as possible up and running go during a busy time (Summer, Christmas, Halloween). There still might be one or two things down, but now that the Rivers of America is back open and Pixar Pier is almost done, I can't think of any expected extended closures coming up. Jan-May seems to be when they plan most of the regular refurbs.

If you want as much as possible up and running go during a busy time (Summer, Christmas, Halloween)...

Halloween Time is fabulous and very fun, but does not have the full entertainment schedule during the week. And with MHP, non-party guests don't get fireworks on party nights. (If MHP moves to DCA as rumored, we don't know yet if there will be fireworks or a special WOC -- but the show will be for party guests only.) For a full entertainment schedule and the least amount of refurbs, I would go with summer (before the end of August) or Holiday Time (from Thanksgiving through first week of January).
