Sorry if this is asked a million times, but I tried the search feature and got nothing.

I'm planning a trip to DL this fall. It's still an up in the air trip at this point, DH has two weeks to figure out something "better" otherwise I'm booking the hotel room in California!

But I have two weeks that I'm looking at either Oct 14-18, which will have the MNSSHP going on.

Or Nov 4-8th which I think the Christmas decorations will be starting to come out then.

Pricing is the same as far as hotel rooms, so that's not a factor. And I I know we'd have to buy tickets for the MNSSHP, which I'm not sure we'll even do. But I'm not sure whether or not you need to buy tickets for any Christmas events there.

We do already have a trip to Disney World scheduled for mid January so it might be nice to space out our trips a tiny bit more, but it's only 3 weeks difference, so that's might not be a big deal either.

So can any DL regulars help a DW veteran, but a DL rookie out? Which week would you choose and why? Are crowds going to be much different for those weeks?

Also this will probably be our only trip to DL or at the very least it'll be another 5+ years before we'd go back.

For me, this would be a toss up. Since it's a similar price for both times, maybe choose whichever holiday you like more or haven't seen. I went during each of these time frames and loved both. Christmas was so, SO magical, but I also loved Halloween when we went.

For the holiday time events, they don't have any holiday, extra charge parties like MNSSHP. When we went, we booked the holiday tour though, which we loved. It included a tour that had all things disney christmas, some fudge samples, front of the line to haunted mansion and IASW, hot cocoa in souvenir cups and gingerbread cookies. Best it included front row holiday parade seats, which was worth it on its' own IMO.

The crowds for those two time frames seemed the same to me, weekdays nice, weekends busy, but tolerable.

Good luck in choosing, I don't think you'll be disappointed either way!
