When to go to WDW?? April or June

Hi!

This is my first post, so forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place. My wife and I are planning a trip to WDW next year. There are two times we can go....the week of April 5 or the end of May/first of June. Any thoughts on which of these times will have smaller crowds? Are crowds large around Memorial Day?

Any information to help us plan would be appreciated!

Well if April 5 is Easter I would definately choose the 1st of June from what I have read on the boards. I have been the first week of June and the crowds were quite manageable.

I will mention this because someone probably will so I might as well. The first week of June is unofficially Gay week with the Magic Kingdom being the park of choice the first Saturday in June. Now I have been at that time, not knowing this and never encountered a problem. But some people choose not to go that week because of that reason. I prefer going at a cooler time of year but would go again at that time should I had the chance.

We have been during the end of May and beginning of June. The crowds are usually fairly light during this time. There are more visitors on Memorial Day weekend, but it doesn't seem to have a drastic effect on the days prior and days after. As mentioned by Kirby, expect the MK on the 1st Saturday of June (June 5 in 2004) to be extremely crowded.

Many school systems are still in session until mid June which tends to keep the crowds down a bit compared to the middle of the summer when almost all schools are out.

We've been during the week of Easter and the 2nd week in June. The one big difference that we noticed was the weather. In April it was PERFECT!! In June we got poured on every day (didn't slow us down, but wasn't the most pleasant either.) The crowds seemed comparable, although they are supposed to be much bigger during Easter week. It didn't seem that way to us, but we did Early Entry and left by noon when it got too crowded on both trips. Good luck--you will have a terrific trip no matter when you go, so don't fret TOO much about it!!
