When to go in December?

Ummmm I never had a bad experience with Frontier to and from MCO.
The line to check luggage is fairly long but we always get through it quickly

Just to warn you -- Frontier into MCO is rough. They have a lot of volume and not a lot of desk space. Baggage had been rough, too. Plus they don't participate in TSA Pre, so that can cause hassles.

I say that because they've been the only airline I've flown the last few years. By hey have a lot of great things, but MCO is a rough place for them.
Thanks for the heads up. I think we'll be okay. Regarding baggage though, we won't be checking any bags (and yes, I know checking is cheaper than carry-on with them). I really wish we could pack light enough to get everything in a "personal item". It's a 3 night trip, I know I could pack light enough, but not sure the parents can. At least if I manage it that's one less bag fee. I'm thinking maybe mom and dad can share a carry-on and each take a personal and that would leave us with one carry-on bag. I'm anxiously awaiting their December rates for this year to get some idea of what they'll be next year. Do you have any idea. It's so random. One Sunday a flight will be $29 and the next Sunday it's $129.

we went the 6-12 last year and the first part of the week was great. by the 12th even the people mover had waits amd cast members holding signs showing where the line started- I was very happy to be leaving that day
Yeah, when we were there over Easter, the People-Mover line was like that. My parents were worried, but the line moved constantly and we were on the ride in less than 15 minutes. It was daunting at first glance though!

Probably because it was down for 3 days 12/7-12/10. We were shocked at that line, too. We stayed late on 12/12 and rode it a few times in a row. It calmed down a lot by then.

We were there last year from Dec 9-15. We never waited more than 20 minutes in line unless a ride broke down. But, that was also by using a good touring strategy. It was an awesome time to visit. We were staying at AS Sports, and the Pop Warner crowd was there our first few nights or so. They were never a problem, just the food court, arcade, and pool was more crowded when they were there. We left Orlando right before the large crowds arrived.

My two cents....I visited the World 12/1-9 last year and found the crowds very manageable. I was worried about the Pop Warner Cheerleaders and Football players, but never once ran into them. In my research prior to my trip I found that in years past, they were only a slight annoyance if you happened to run into them in a park as there would be so many of them and they would be rather loud. Also, they often stay at places like the All star resorts, Pop & sometimes POR or CB, but usually not in places like the Dlx resorts. So if you happened to be at the resort they were staying at that could be problematic for you. I spent 5 nights at POFQ, followed by 3 at the WL and had a fantastic trip. I would echo others thoughts that earlier is better when it comes to crowds.

We booked out trip Dec 10th - 13th. This also happens to fall within one of the Visa card holder discount period. MVMCP is happening and it'll hopefully not be too chilly. Seemed like a good time to pick to me!

We went the same dates last year and it was freezing! I took gloves and hats for the kids thank goodness, but our hands were frozen until late morning every day. And we're from the NE! So be prepared :)

Good to know! I live in MA so I'll make sure we pack appropriate attire!

Generally speaking, early December may be marginally less crowded, but "slow" times in December are a thing of the past. Plan plan plan and it won't really matter which of those three weeks you go. It may actually be harder to rent the points you want if you go later in the month. Concerning MVMCP, in my experience the parties in December get busier the closer you get to Xmas but they are limited admission so that helps a bit.

We're staying at BLT - renting DVC points. We booked at the 9 month out mark for December 12-17. One of those days is us going to Legoland too. After that we go to USF until the 22nd.

Crowd calendars typically show that this week has modest crowds (3/10 and 4/10 - then high of 7/10). We went during March of this year. My blunder was going during Central Florida's spring break...yeah MY BAD. So I don't think the crowds will be that bad..(Low of 8/10).

We also are going to MVMCP on the 13th.

Now we just have to wait for the ADR's and booking our Ultimate Day of Thrills Tour.
