When to go in December

Hey everyone! I'm trying to plan a trip to Disney World in December. We were initially looking at going Dec. 9-16 but discovered that would be in the middle of Pop Warner week. Now we are considering going the 12-19. There isn't much of a difference price wise. Planning on stay at Pop with DH and DD who is 3. Just wondering if any one has any opinions on when would be the better time go. Thanks!

I've never stayed at Pop, so I don't know if the dates affect that.

Pop Warner shouldn't affect you, they close DHS early, probably on Dec 9th for the Pop Warner private party.

IMO based on easywdw.com's crowd levels from last year (Dec 2014), Dec 9-16 would be slightly better than Dec 12-19. But that's only because the 18th and 19th is the last weekend right before Christmas week, so there may be a lot of guests starting their vacation that week. But this year's Christmas eve isn't until Thursday, so I'm gonna guess that guests won't fly in until Sunday or Monday. If you see that the price is the same, then Disney doesn't expect much change in crowds.

We (my fiance and I) went to Disney 12/1/13 to 12/6/2013 and then again 11/30/14 to 12/5/14 and stayed at the Pop Century both times. We absolutely love going that week and lucked out with the weather both times. Pop Century is our favorite Value Resort and love that their buses go to and from the parks - they don't have any other resorts to pick up/drop off people.
In 2013 it was sunny and in the 80's every day and at night it would be in the 70's, wait times were 15 minutes max, on 12/6 we were at Magic Kindgom when they taped the Christmas Day Parade (and we got to see ourselves on TV too!) and saw alot of famous people walking through the parks!
This past trip, the weather was sunny and in the 80's again and we only had maybe 1 short period when it rained. It was a little more crowded this time, however the wait times were really short except for the Mine Train....but we expected that since it was new.
We would love to go again the same time this year, but we would love to see the Food and Wine Festival and the Parks decorated for Halloween.

That sounds good to me! All the crowd calanders say that anytime before December 19th is Ay Okay. I hope it works out!

both weeks are fine, we stay at DVC so dont know how pop warner affects the resort but the parks are not impacted, in my opinion those are 2 of the best weeks to go, taking our grandson from 12/12-12/19.
