When to go in December?

I need feedback on dates in December because we have never been at Christmas. Would you go Dec. 16-23 or Dec. 26-Jan. 1? I know it is the most popular time but would the week before Christmas be better? I would like to go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (last date - Dec. 18). Thanks!

I would go Dec 16-23 if I was gonna do one of those times. We went in Dec '07 the week before Christmas (Dec 14-21) and it was nice. It was still busy on the weekends, but doable. Going the week of Christmas has no appeal to me, it just seems too crazy!! We also did the last MVMCP and it was packed!! We really didn't get to do that much, so imho, it was not worth it! hth

Dec 16-23.. Once the 18th hits it gets very very very crowded. By dec 24 th it is absolutely madness and doesn't let up until AFTER New years

I don't know if it's an option, but we love the first week of December. It's the best. Low crowds, holiday decor and MVMCP. I would avoid the week between Christmas and New Year's like the plague. It is crowded beyond imagination!
