Need your opinions and help on this one. We are considering going to the World for Christmas this year. I cannot decide whether to go the week after Thanksgiving or the second week in December. I'm really wishy-washy on this one. I will have my 70ish mother with some mobility problems, my cousin, who will just have finished chemo, and cousin's 10 year old daughter. Crowds are some concern to me with this group. Thanks in advance for any help!!

Both are good choices. I've heard the parks have low crowds during those weeks. The parks do get crowded for Thanksgiving, however, starting the Monday after they aren't as crowded.

I think Pop Warner teams also go during that time too, so you may want to avoid the parks that week. I think its the 1st week in Dec but it may change from year to year.

Have a great trip!!

I am sorry but both it looks like the crowds are going to be heavy during both of your timeframes. I have never been at those time but I have heard things. :confused3 I hope someone can help you out more than I.

Pop Warner is there the first week in December ... so that will not affect a second dec week visit. Many sources indicate this is a low crowd time, low crowd for Disney. I think the best time to go would be the 2nd week in December. Why? Because that is the time DW and I chose to go :thumbsup2

Thanks for the replies, but I am still confused. In need of some more thoughtful opinions!

We have been going the first two weeks of Dec. since 2000 and the last couple of years it has been getting alot more crowded.

I believe the word is out that it's a great time to go and more DVC members go this time of the year to take avantage of the lower pts needed to book.

This year Major League Baseball is having their Winter Meetings the first week of December at WDW so it might also add a little to the crowds.

Hope this helps... :sunny:

I went last year with 7 others in the second week of December and had a blast. It was rainy all week, and we got soaked the first day at MK, but we were able to WALK ON everything. The rest of the parks were just as manageable that week. My brothers did TOT five times in a row because it was a five minute wait. We did park hop to MK on a Saturday afternoon, and that was a big mistake. It was packed (at least compared to our first day) so we got back on the monorail and went to EPCOT.

I don't know how busy the week after Thanksgiving is, but I would recommend the second week if you are worried about crowds.

I hope that helps! :)

Hi!
My DH nd I went last year Nov 29-Dec 6. We followed Tour Guide Mike's plans and we walked on to everything, except Soarin'. We are going again next year Nov 27-Dec 7. I think it is a great time to go! I just got back from Disney last week and I was surprised at the size of the crowds compared to our Nov trip, so we changed our next trip from Sept 07 to Nov 07.
Just remember that what others call crowded to you may not be. Whatever dates you choose, have a great trip! :cloud9: :Pinkbounc
