When to give up on a wait list??

We are presently on a waitlist for a studio (any) at the BWV for June(18-24). I would think that the highest probibility of moving up the list would be just before the 31 day period kick in (May 17).

I am missing all 5 days and on the day to day waitlist (so individual days can be booked)

Does anyone have any guidence on this? When should I give up with the BWV and change the reservation to SSR which seems to be always available??? (30 days?, 7 days? 2 days? 60 days?)?

If you have the points available I would book SSR and keep calling on your wait list. If you can't book SSR don't give up hope...I'm sure a preferred view studio will pop up. I was wait listed for the first part of this month and got in 8 days prior to arrival. But I would definitely have a back up plan just in case. Your also right about more things opening up just before the 31 day mark....hang in there...don't give up.

The waitlist ends 7 days before arrival. Then you need to call each day. I had given up hope for a BW view 1 bedroom and yesterday 6 of our 7 days came through. Our arrival is in 4 days. Miracles, with the aid of pixie dust, do happen.

Last year I booked a 2BR unit @ OKW for a week in October during the F&W Fest. We then thought we might like to stay at the Boardwalk, so I waitlisted for that. Slowly but surely, my days came through, sometimes one at a time, sometimes 2 at a time, but they came through. The last day came through the day before we left for our trip.

Personally, I'd be calling about a waitlist from Orlando airport the day I arrived. You never know.

So are you waitlisting and making changes day by day with the possibility of having to change resorts? Perhaps you have enough points to cover either possibility. Could you elaborate?
