When to get disney visa reward card?

We are going to WDW in Oct. I'm still trying to accumulate points on my Visa. When should I call to get my rewards card? Will I be able to get new points added to my card after I receive it? I remember reading it is a reloadable card, but want to be sure.

You can order your card now and place only 20 DDRD on it. When you are closer to your trip, transfer the remaining balance to the card, as long as it is over 10 DDRD. That way, you'll get to put every DDRD that you've earned onto the card.
