Hi,
We are just about a week away from our trip! I am wondering when is the best time to fax in room requests? We are staying in the Poly. Does anyone have the fax number? I'm interested in any Poly fans out there who have some last minute opinons on their favorite longhouse? We would like to be close to be centrally located to the monorail and pool. What do you suggest?
Thanks!

Click on this link http://wdwig.com/cro1.htm It will give you all the info you need on how and when to fax your requests and at the bottom there will be a link to click for the fax numbers of all the hotels.

As far as the Polynesian, I have never been there, but will be going next month. I plan on requesting the Tokelau building. It seems to be the most centrally located. I got all my info from Tikiman's site. The link is http://tikiman2001.homestead.com/index.html This site should be able to answer any questions you may have about the Polynesian.

Have a great trip:D

We stayed in Fiji on the marina side last month. We'd always wondered how to get one of the rooms there. Now we know, ask! You can see the marina, the back of the volcano pool, and the grand ceremonial house from your room. It's a short walk to the the grand ceremonial house and volcano pool. It's a relatively long walk to the TTC since it's on the other end of the resort. Nice if you're not in a hurry or just have the time.

We spent 4 nights at the Poly this past May (with 3 kids and baby). LOVED IT!!! Stayed in the Samoa which is directly between the two pools, close to the beach (so you can take the launch to MK--very fun!), and close to the Great Ceremonial House. Niua is closer to the GCH but they are RIGHT next to each other, so you're only talking a difference of maybe two minutes! also, if this matters, Samoa is non-smoking; Niua smoking optional.
Have fun!

I'm in thre same boat...trying to decide which longhouse to request! Figi sounds great, but so does the central locale of Tokelau or Samoa. Question...when we talk about 'distances' here at the Poly are we splitting hairs or is the walking factor really something to consider? We've stayed in various places at CBR and can't ever say we found walking to food court or pool a hassle...but maybe walking a distance for your transportation options could be a bummer. I like walking, but am conscious that sometimes after a long day 10 extra steps can feel like a mile!

in may we were in samoa...ground floor ..facing the volcano pool.... i loved it...i do not like to walk far either....but i have to say...all the buildings looked fairly close...i did not walk over to the transportation building...but all the buildings did not seem that far apart.. we have stayed at FRQT and people say they are not spread out...i thought poly buildings were closer than they were...amy

Just my opinion:
we loved being near the pools and beach, esp. when coming *home* for mid-day break w/kids. The TTC was a little farther to walk to (from Samoa), maybe 10 minutes? But we only minded on the day we were going home and running late to meet the towncar service. For the convenience of stepping out the door and being at either pool and the beach, I wouldn't do anything different. Taking the launch to MK was more fun for our kids (age 2-13) than the monorail!
Loved Samoa:smooth:

We stayed at the Poly in Feb. 02 at Tokelau. I also got all of my info from Tikiman's website. I requested Tokelau at the time of my ressie and then a week before faxed a request for Tokelau and a specific room # (don't remember which one, but it was second level of Tokelau toward the end by lagoon. Again, I got it from Tikiman's website.) I was pleasantly surprised that we received the room requested. We arrived at the hotel very early (like at 8 on a Sunday!), got the keys to our room, hopped on the monorail, and were at the park for 9 when it opened!!!

We were able to see the lagoon from our room and almost see the castle if we leaned a little. In any event, we could walk out to the second floor outdoor stairs and watch the MK fireworks from the landing.

Tokelau is centrally located and nothing is really too far to walk to. We love the Poly and it's multiple transportation options! We often got off at the TTC and walked back and it was not too far at all...Sometimes my DS 10 and DD 6 were a little tired, but we were able to make it!

The only negative thing about the Poly is that it was undergoing construction while we were there and the large indoor fountain was closed. But you'll get some type of construction/renovation at most any site at WDW, particularly when going during the winter like we did.

All in all you're going to love Poly. It's great for young kids and you can't beat getting on the monorail from your front door!

We were going to stay at the Poly again next FEb, but can't handle the Peak rates at that time. (We went during value right after 9/11 and got terrific rates!) So we decided on Dolphin (with govt rates) and hope to see fireworks/illuminations at Epcot!!

Enjoy your trip!
