when to eat at BOMA?

On Memorial day Animal Kingdom is a late park. I am having a really really hard time planning this day because I don't know what to expect crowd wise!

Anyway, I want to eat at BOMA and this day is open and I was thinking of making a reservation for that night.

Do we go to AK at say 5:00, play, go eat at 8:00 and then return to the park? Or is that too much transportation time?

Do we go eat at say 5:30 or 6:00 and then go to AK?

Or do we go to AK at 5:00ish, enjoy the park and eat late at say 9:00 and then return to our hotel?

I am driving myself crazy trying to plan the "perfect trip!"

DH says "whatever you think is best." and so he is no help!

I want to make all my reservations so I can put this all away for the next 3 months!

Any ideas?

You DO NOT plan to rush out of AKL. That place is just magnificent! I have fingers crossed that someday it works out for us to stay there. Until then, though, we'll plan on a leisurely visit to dine every trip.

I would put more time in at AK and plan on two hours plus (crowds) at AKL. You will want to walk around and take about an hour to eat, maybe more. You know what? Plan three hours at AKL. That's a good bet.

Thanks for the advice.

I think I will plan to eat at 4:00 or 5:00 and then have some time to enjoy the resort! I had not planned for that at all. Then we can go the AK at night! We are aiming for a morning and an evening at each park.

Planning all this sure is hard sometimes (but I also love it!)

If you're using disney transportation to get from AKL after dinner back to your regular resort, you may want to keep that in mind when planning dinner times. If you plan on going back to AK to connect to your hotel bus, that is. If not, you'll have to connect @ DTD to your resort bus.

If it was me I'd plan an early dinner (tour the hotel before dinner) and go back to AK.

Doesn't AK normally close at 5? They'll only be open til 8 then, so it's not that late.

Cann't wait to get to Boma's on the 26th.

Don't you HATE that? It drives me absolutely up the wall. And - count on it - when you're there, he's going to say, "Hey, why don't we..." do something else totally not in the plan that you don't have time for, probably involving beer. Arrgh! Men! They're wonderful, but they're frustrating!

Can't really help re: Memorial Day (never did it), but if you have an ADR, I think you have plenty of time.

You made me laugh out loud!! :rotfl2: YES, he will say "Why didn't we eat at---?). I have 4 more meals to plan and so I printed up several menus and wrote down which park we would be in and I will give it to DH tomorrow to look over. All the info he could possibly need will be right at his finger tips! LOL!

thanks!
