When to do Online check-in 10 days or 2 days

I am gonna try online check-in. Do you think it makes any difference if I check in 10 days early or 2 days early?

I don't know that it matters. I did online check in one week prior to our arrival date.

Some people have been posting whether you do the online check-in closer to your check-in date; if it means you have a better chance of getting your requests, or a surprise upgrade, etc.

It doesn't matter what time of the window you do your online check-in......ten days or eight days or two days....it is just nice to have it out of the way.
