When to call, during work lunch or after work?

How long have wait times been to book a cruise? I have to call to book tomorrow to use OBB and will be at work. I'm wondering if I should try to call during my hour lunch break or just wait until I get home?

I was on hold for 40 minutes this morning. I called right at 8am.

Wow I called at 8 they said 4 minutes it was less than that. My mom called at 8:30 she didn’t say anything about the wait so I’m sure it wasn’t that long.will ask her later

My estimate was 11 minutes but it took 40. I'm guessing you got in in the first round and then all agents were busy at the same time so those that didn't (like me :) ) had to wait longer.

Bring all of your information to work and give it a try. I'll be up at 0400 local (NM) to start scoping out the rooms and cost. Hit the phone at 0600. Good luck.

My wife and I both dialed in at 8 am Eastern. She got through first. My sense is that she dialed in and her call was answered by the call system right at 8 am, on the hour. I was about 20 seconds behind her. She was told 6 minute wait time; I was told 30 minutes! Yet, my call was actually assigned an agent first (after 30 or so minutes). My number is in there system and I had signed in with my Platinum Vastawat Cay Club number. I don’t know whether that impacts when a call is answered. Bottom line, be prepared to wait.

Thanks, I’ll try and call during my lunch and hope the wait isn’t too long. I start work at 7am so I don’t think my boss would be too happy if I just decided to go on a call an hour into work. The phones aren’t open until 8 right?

8am Eastern, yes. Good luck! I'm on the West coast, also a Gold CC member. Probably won't be up for 5am for the phones but will most likely be up by 6:30am to try and get in the line. Sorry kids, y'all are walking to school tomorrow :rotfl2:

Thought I'd come back and update, I called at 6:45 pacific (so 9:45am eastern) and waited on hold for 6 minutes! Easiest call ever!! I also called the Castaway number. Hope that helps and good luck!!

That's good to hear! The Castaway number, is that on the on board booking confirmation? Or is that something different? I keep checking online the price to see if it's going up lol

1 800 449 3380 is the Castaway club phone number :) I know you're looking at a few europe cruises, we booked the 7 night Northern Europe and the price had not gone up since yesterday. At least not in the category I wanted.

Thanks for the number! We decided on the Norway cruise that stops in Amsterdam. The one you're doing is the one that goes to Russia right? DH wanted to do that until I mentioned wanting to go to Norway and he always tries to make me happy.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Europe cruises, they all sound fabulous! I actually wanted to do the 8 night cruise but it was another $1500-$1800 just for that one night so nope.....lol My husband is actually the one taking the lead on this cruise, Northern Europe is one he's wanted to do for a while so he's going to take the lead on excursions and such. Usually that is me so it's hard to relinquish control :rotfl2: It's ok, I'm still the lead on the reservation :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

They do! I'm excited I've never been to Norway before. I usually pick where we travel, I'm more of a planner than him. But he'll be the lead on the reservation since he's Gold and I'm Silver.

If you can I would give it a shot at 8AM and see what wait time they give you. Maybe you'll be 1 of the lucky few to get through first. If you get a long wait time then try again later.

I ended up calling during my lunch time. I used the Castaway Club number and got through almost immediately so that was really nice.
