When to buy tickets?

We are going towards the end of October, with this new park reservation system when should we buy and book our park days? It has been a long time since I was in DL (we have been going to WDW and then my 2 DL trips were canceled due to covid) and I thought they had “buy 3 days get one free” offers, but maybe I am just imagining that? We are NOT California residents, so no discount that way. Is there any chance there will be a discount if we wait? We will be there 5 days, Sunday-Thursday if that makes a difference.

Not very likely for discounted tickets. The So Cal one they offered is one they usually offer in January/February, ending in May but obviously due to COVID, it couldn't happen.

You can check Get Away Today, I think they are an authorized ticket reseller.

I think aRes is the cheapest right now; a 3 day parkhopper is $340 plus a $2 handling fee (gate price $365). For comparison, U** T*** (the frog one) is $344.34, GetAwayToday is currently $360. Any of those will give you an online ticket code that you can load into your Disneyland App and then make reservations.

Any downside to NOT buying direct from Disney? Such as if they put MM/EE back in place for multi-day tickets, might it be a problem if you didn't buy direct from Disney?

No it’s not an issue. Wherever you get your tickets, if MM is offered they will include that benefit.

For the OP, get your tickets ASAP so you can make your park reservations as Halloween will be in full swing. I seriously doubt there will be any discounts if you wait and the chances of buy 3, get 4 deals happening are pretty close to zero. Use the discount resellers listed above for the best prices.

If you have a Discover card you can get 5% cash back by using it through PayPal. Don't know about the other places mentioned but I just bought from UCT (the frog one) since they take PP. For our 3 day, base tix (for 3) we will get $44 in Cashback.

Hi all, different question. If you buy the three day ticket package on the first day your desired visit reservation dates are available; do you then have to go back each day and add subsequent reservations for day 2-3?

Example : today’s first date is November 10. If I purchase today, would I have to add Nov 11 to tomorrow and and then Nov 12 add the last day?

Thank you for all your help, I am going to get them sooner rather then later. It just kind of makes me nervous that the trip might need to be cancelled again, it seems to good to be true!

Even if the worst case happens and you do have to cancel your trip, the value of any tickets you purchase can always be used towards the cost of new tickets anytime in the future, even if they have expired.

Konagal, it’s all on the Disneyland website:
”Make theme park reservations for up to the number of admission days on your ticket. You can link other valid tickets to your account to make a group reservation.”

No worries. The only caveat is that if you have to apply the value of old expired tickets to new tickets, you can only do that at the Ticket booths or Guest services, you can’t do it online. But you can do that at any time so if you arrive the day/night before your park visits, just go to the ticket booths and exchange them then.
