When to buy park tickets?!

I'm not sure of this is the proper place for this post but I have a question on when or if I should buy park tickets far in advance. Here's the deal, I've booked a room only reservation at POR for next June. I thought I would buy my park tickets before the end of the year to avoid a price increase for next year. However, in looking at historical discounts that Disney has offered, there have been some nice promotions in early June (7 nights for the price of 4, 7 for 5 and others). If I buy my tickets this year and subsequently want to book a special "package" offer that includes tickets, I'm stuck with the extra park tickets I bought this year, and the $1600 cost to purchase them. I guess I have two questions:

1) Should I hold off on buying tickets until next spring?

2) How easy, posssible or feasable is it to resell park tickets, if I would need to do that?

You will know your June discounts before the ticket increase next year so I'd just wait and see what's released for your dates before getting tickets.

I usually buy my park tickets from an authorized seller that has a good return policy. For example, AAA will refund tickets in full. Undercover tourist will refund all but 5%.

Usually Disney increases the prices in August.

Disney increases their prices in August almost every year. I would highly recommend purchasing tickets through Undercovertourist.com. They have the best deals by far of any authorized retailer or Disney itself. Please keep in mind when looking at Disney prices that they do not include taxes or shipping costs. Undercover Tourist already includes taxes and shipping in their prices. I generally save several hundred dollars on the cost of tickets when buying through them. The only time I buy tickets directly through Disney is when I book a package deal and I only do package deals when free dining is offered. If you choose to buy your tickets now and then decide a package deal would suit you better for this trip, you can simply keep your other tickets. Disney tickets do not have shelf life. They expire 14 days from the date of their first use. What this means to you is that until you use them for the first time, they will be good forever. Once you use them once they expire in 14 days.

As others have said, prices probably won't increase until August of 2013, so you're fine to wait. Keep your room only ressie, and if a package deal comes out that you want to take advantage of, you can buy tix from Disney with your package. If a room only offer comes out, then you can just take advantage of slightly discounted tix from undercover tourist.

Actually Disney has increased ticket prices in JUNE for the past two years (previously it was August).

I would wait until spring to see if a good package offer becomes available. If there's nothing by May, buy your tickets.

Don't expect any of those 7 for 4 type deals, though. Those haven't been offered in years!
