When to buy admission tickets for Universal

Hopefully someone can help me out. We will be visiting US & IoA on July 19 & 20 respectively. Is there any thought to when we should buy our admission tickets? Do we buy them online prior to heading down there or do we wait and buy them when we get there? And are they any cheaper ways to buy them? Right now we'd be paying right around $780 for 6 adult tickets. We were planning on buying the 2 day, 1 park/day tickets as we will only be there for two days............thanks.

Right...you could waste valuable time waiting in line just to buy tickets and then have to wait in another to enter the park. If it's really busy you could be talking quite a bit of time wasted.

I agree with the PPs, we bought our tickets early two years ago and walked right in - one of the first families in the park. Last year we bought them at the ticket window and it took forever! Not many families were in front of us, but those who were had a million questions or were not prepared with their ticket choice/money/etc. Definitely buy them early!

It is cheaper to buy them in advance online before you go. You save $20 per adult ticket off the gate price by buying them online through the Universal website.
