My mom has been making fresh turkeys for the last few years and they are always so good! She gets them from a local farm, however, and usually picks them up a day or 2 ahead of time.
I don't live anywhere near her and we are new in town. I'm not 100% sure which way we will go, fresh or frozen, but if I do fresh how soon can I buy it and just stick it in the fridge?
