Hello All - first post!

I'm looking at taking my mum, sister and two nieces to DLP in the Easter hols next year (sister doesn't want to take the kids out of school so it's our only option). We're on a bit of a budget - couldn't believe how expensive some of the hotels are for just three nights! Anyway, at the moment the deal is a 15% early booking discount but I was wondering if anyone knew what the cycle for discounts is throughout the year. Are we best booking now or is it likely there will be a bigger discount in a few months time?

Also, is the official website the best place to book or are there bargains to be had elsewhere? Finally, I notice the "preferred hotels" are all coming up blank - I'm guessing they don't take bookings this far in advance? Or was my computer playing up?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome:) Its difficult to say when to book. They sometimes do discount but no one knows when they will. The UK has had a few good deal which has paid dividends as they are being used a lot to take over & be the top nation who visits DLRP.

Booking direct usually is the best place to go, although there are other companies that come up better but not always.

Hi ICGenie,

The offers will get better than 15% I think, you just have to keep checking the official site (and here of course, we tend to shout out if we see good offers for DLP anywhere ;)).

Does it have be Easter hols? May bank holidays (ie 1st week of June next year if you're in England/Wales) or Feb half term would be less busy than Easter, because French and European schools all have holidays over Easter/throughout April, whereas they don't in the other half term holidays.

Hi ICGenie,

I've found that when you see an offer that you believe won't be beaten, you need to hold your nerve and go for it!

Some of the offers in the past have ranged from 10%-40% off and once they even included all food (which I wish they'd repeat!)

However, it can be a bit hit and miss, as when we booked for November a few weeks ago, we did so at 25% and now you can get up to 30% off (grrrr!!) :badpc:

Also worth noting that they sometimes improve the offer for the "last few days" of a promotion!

As for who to book with, we've been with Leger (avoid) Co-operative Travel and direct on the website and have to say that The Co-op was exactly the same as through the website (plus I got member's points - which was nice!)

Though I may be a little bias as I work for the Co-operative Food!! lol :rolleyes1

Hope you do manage to book something as it REALLY is worth it! (albeit a tad on the expensive side!)

Matt

The eldest niece turns 7 on 1st June so I'd rather go before we have to pay for her!

I'm thinking there will be other offer periods and they've got to be for at least 15%. So we might hold off for a bit. Eek, is nervy!

These are our dates for DLP for 2012; a full 2 weeks after Easter. Will lots of countries in Europe still be having their time off of school? Educate me. :) We purposely planned our London-Paris-DLP trip to occur well after Easter, and home in time before May bank holidays occur.

THANK YOU:goodvibes
