When to book next cruise?

I am a 1st time cruiser (which will be painfully obvious by this question...). If we are looking at next year's cruise already, would it be better to wait the 54 days until we're on the Dream to book the next one, or book it now to ensure availability? I'm looking at an April sailing of the Fantasy or a March sailing of the Wonder.

Book it now. Then, once you get onboard, you "reshop" the cruise. If the price hasn't risen enough to negate the onboard booking savings, then cancel and rebook it onboard. If the price has risen too much, you've gotten the best price you can.

Got it. I'm thankful for your help. It's hard to know the best approach when it's all new. Thanks so much.
