When to book HRH (for June or Aug '05)

For those who have stayed at the HRH either the end of June or mid-August, when did you book your stay? We're planning 3 nights there, combined with 3 nights at a DVC resort and will most likely lock in the DVC portion before the HR portion.

I'm hoping for a garden room. Do you think I'm safe to wait until January or February to book this, or should I plan on sooner?
Also, how did they bill the reservation? Was it one-night deposit, or the entire stay? (this would be room only, by the way).
We stayed there in January of '02 (just after 9/11) so we booked only 2 months ahead. What do you suggest for a busy summer visit? Thanks, Natalie

I would say book as soon as you can. I have been trying for a weekend that we can go from Jan thru May and NOTHING! I would book ASAP. You can always change it. They take one night's despit (sometimes they don't even put that charge through).

I was told there was a charge for revision of bookings or cancellation for Universation resorts (see below). Can anyone make a suggestion on getting the best discount without incurring a charge?

Heard about the Entertainment book. As I'm from Australia, which is the best book to get eg. US area? Or can I use the Australian Entertainment book?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Where did you get the info from? I have made rate changes to my ressie and nothing was ever mentioned about fees for changes. I also thought you could cancel without incurring charges up until 5 days before your date.

Does anyone out there have diehard info on this? Thanks!

It sounds like your quoting the terms if you book a package or through a travel agency.

I would agree that it is from a package. Just booked directly from the hotel and it is a 5 day cxl without a charge. I booked 6/18-21 and they said that the hotel was getting limited availablity.
