when to book Dec 06 flights

We are planning our Disney trip from Dec. 19-24 and need advice. When should we book our plane tickets? I have found tickets for around $200 each, which seems pretty good considering it is around Christmas time when lots of people are traveling, however, I have seen flights from Indianapolis to Orlando for a lot less in the past. We don't fly much (only to Disney! so I'm wondering if I should wait to lock in a price in hopes of getting a better deal. Also, is Christmas Eve a horrible time to fly? Thanks in advance for your help!!

I would say $200 from Indy around Christmas is pretty good. I think holiday prices are only going to go up...book now!

I agree. Personally, I'm still holding off for sale or ding fares on early December flights, but if I were travelling so close to the holidays, I'd go ahead and book.

I would book now...$200 is not bad at all and it saves you the worrying of getting tickets so close to the holiday...you leave on my birthday... the 19th!!! We are going in the 23rd...Enjoy your trip!

200 sounds great! I booked back in June after some time of looking for 300 pp- but we have to fly out of OKC which is not an international airport. I think thats a great price if you can get the times you want. I personally dont mind paying a bit more for convenience sake and flying in and out at a good time. I am leaving the 29th of Nov and staying until the 6th. Hopefully it wont be too crowded!

Thanks for all the opinions!! I think I will go ahead and book. I checked today and the price is still $600 for all 3 of us!!! This is our first time at Disney during the Christmas season, I am so excited!!

I would book now. Chances are the flight could become booked up closer it gets to the holidays with holiday travelers, and if nothing else prices may go up and sometimes tends to go up.

I would jump on it now. I booked our from MKE to MCO in March for $198.

Great that you booked I did SW as soon as then opened up and thats not much different from here in MD.

I still want a Ding but if not I'll take around $200 or under anyday to fly direct.

We will be there from the 18th to the 22nd and can't wait as well . But we are hitting MNSSHP as well in Oct. and got some good prices for those flights as well.

I purchased my flights for Christmas time in February. I am also flying out of Indy on a direct flight on Northwest for $177/ round trip, with great times.

Okay, I am the only nut waiting for a SW Ding for December. I am flying out of Nashville and the cheapest nonstop flight is 286! I can't pay that! I just can't! It goes against everything that I believe in . I must have a ding!!

I am being stubborn and I may end up driving to Florida. I booked my flights last year in Nov for a December trip over christmas. I used a Southwest Ding! 69 each way! I am going to stubbornly wait it out.

I just booked flights for October on SW for a Mommy and me trip with just my daughter and got a ding for 39 one way and (gulp) 130 the other way. I am still hoping out for a ding for the more expensive leg of the trip.

But for four people, I am waiting for a ding.

Great advice that I wish I'd seen sooner. Just booked for our 12/9-13 trip and used FF miles for 2 of our 4 tix. The flights I wanted were avail for the FF tix, but then while we were frigging talking they became unavailable. So we've gotta leave WDW 3 hours earlier than I thought we'd have to. Shoulda called 5 min earlier.
