When to book AKL for May 2008?

We are planning on going to AKL in May 2008. However, I really don't want to book this early...but I don't want to wait too long and miss out on a standard, pool view room. I was hoping to wait until after the first of year to book...but with all the construction at AKL, wondering if standard rooms may go faster now. We always book through AAA, so thinking I might be "safe" in terms of getting a room even if I wait to book...plus there is always the chance of a special.

Any advice???

I would book it now, and if there is a special code you can apply it to your reservation.

I agree...go ahead and book it now if you can. Apply the code later, if available. Are the 2008 rates not available through AAA yet? It doesnt look like Expedia has them available yet....

No AAA rates yet for May. A CM told me 2-3 months ahead is all the allow for AAA discounts.

I would book now.

If you go ahead and book the room at regular rates, how do you go about getting the AAA rate later?

We are looking to book AKL for August 08 and have no idea when I should do this. I am a little concerned as the top two floors are in the process of being converted to villas and this will reduce the total number of rooms available. Also, all rooms will now be standard size - no more deluxe as they were all on the top 2 floors. Apparently the concierge rooms are going to be 4th floor standard size rooms, so that only leaves 3 floors for those wishing to book non-concierge non-villa rooms.

Just read a posting from someone who got AAA rates for Dec 08, so they should definitely be out for May. I also read that there are a limited number of rooms available with AAA rate and when they are gone that's it. Now I really don't know what to do about August 08.
