When to add an extra park day

Our reservation was for a 6 day park hopper. Our flight was supposed to leave early morning on the 7th day so no ticket for that day. However Southwest has changed our early morning flight to 5:35pm. I'm trying to decide if I want to go to a park the last day as it would be an extra $20 each for a few hours. We've been many times and have another trip scheduled for August. Since I don't want to change my reservation when/how do I go about adding an extra day to my tickets? If the weather isn't supposed to be nice I just may hang at the resort or do the monorail loop.

Personally, I'm always stressed on travel days so we have never gone to the parks on a departure day. However, the last time we were there 2017, we had early flight arrivals and so I sprung for the extra day and we went to Magic Kingdom after checking into the hotel.

unless things have changed, you can add days to your tickets up as long as you still have one day left on them. We always take a day or 2 less, then we add if we need them. that way if we wouldn`t have used them, the money stays in our pocket, not Disney`s. Of course, if you really want to make advance Fastpasses for that day, you can`t do it that way but since for us the last day we always leave it open to whatever we feel like doing, it works out.

1. This situation has not changed.
2. You don't need to have a "day left" on a ticket in order to upgrade that ticket (although you CAN upgrade if you DO have a "day left" on the ticket.)

You can upgrade a ticket AS LATE AS close-of-business on the SAME DAY that you use a tickets last asset ("last day.")

Very good to know! thanks for the info :)
